IMPACT
Noisy Waters Mural Festival has one main goal: bring world-class public art to Bellingham. Already, six monumental works have risen across our streets—walls reborn as stories, color, and shared vision—with three more set to arrive in the summer of 2026, when last year’s winners return to leave their mark. While nine artists have won mural commissions so far, dozens of other artists have come to Bellingham to showcase their art to our community. Each new voice that arrives doesn’t just add paint to canvas; it ignites something deeper, stirring local creativity and weaving our city into a vibrant cultural hub.
SIX NOISY WATERS MURALS TRANSFORMING PUBLIC SPACES IN BELLINGHAM, WA

AND THREE MORE ON THE WAY THIS YEAR...

PUBLIC ART MATTERS
Murals transform ordinary spaces into shared emotional landscapes, turning blank walls into powerful expressions of identity, meaning, and hope. A mural doesn’t ask you to enter a gallery or pay attention on someone else’s terms. It meets you where you are, whether you’re walking to work or waiting for a bus, and insists that art belongs to everyone. These massive works can reclaim neglected walls, amplify marginalized voices, and spark conversations that might otherwise never happen. They carry the fingerprints of the community, while also inviting new perspectives and possibilities. In a world that can feel fragmented and isolating, public murals create moments of connection, reminding us that we share not just space, but stories.
