For three days, muralists paint original works on 8x8-foot panels while the public watches the process unfold. By Sunday, the community votes and three artists earn commissions to paint permanent murals across Bellingham's public spaces.
Noisy Waters is more than a cultural festival. Each year, the top muralists earn commissions to return and create permanent public art around Bellingham, bringing more original work into the city for everyone to see and enjoy. Three new murals are coming in 2027.
