LIVE ART
World-renowned muralists gather in Bellingham, WA for a weekend of mural painting, demos, music, parties, education and inspiration. This festival is a friendly art contest, in which artists will have two days to paint 8’x’8’ portable walls on public display for the community to enjoy. Attendees will vote for their favorites and the top three winners will receive cash contracts to paint large murals in Bellingham.

Last year, we introduced th
e Indigeversal Collective, in which artists from seven tribes across North America collaborated to create a permanent mural at the Waterfront. Each of the artists designed symbols in the visual language of their ancestors, all of which were tied together by Indigeversal Collective founder, Kaplan Bunce. This was the first time painting a mural for over half of these artists, and what we hope is the beginning of more to come. We are actively working to locate the next Indigeversal Collective Mural.

We also invite 11 artists interested in murals to collaborate on the NOISY WATERS collaborative mural. This is an opportunity for artists to gain experience designing and creating public art, and get more exposure, in addition to mentorship opportunities.

FAMILIES WELCOME
One of our favorite parts about Noisy Waters seeing kiddos! We provide a Kids Wall, where children of all ages are invited to create their own "mural." In addition, we welcome families on our Mural by Bike Tours. Moments of creative inspiration in childhood are pivotal, whether it kiddos getting their hands dirty in buckets of paint or watching a muralist live paint. These moments are not only special but they are formative.
WORKSHOPS
Try your hand at spray painting! Last year, one of our most popular installments spray paint workshops offered by local muralist Taj Williams. These are interactive opportunities for amateur and experienced folks to play around with aerosal.
MURAL TOURS
Discover the murals around Bellingham by bike! Muralist and Noisy Waters founder Gretchen Leggitt hosts a 2 hour tour of local installations. Features guest artists including Ruckus and Ivan Collins.
THE WATERFRONT
Noisy Waters Mural Festival is located in Bellingham's Waterfront District, which is an unimproved area and transitioning toward future development.
